Announcing LaunchDarkly Academy
At LaunchDarkly, our mission is to empower all teams to deliver and control their software. We envision a world in which feature releases are safe, boring, and unceremonious—where developers relax after releases instead of anxiously waiting for something to go wrong. We’re excited to announce the launch of LaunchDarkly Academy: our education site with hands-on, interactive courses and resources to help you become a LaunchDarkly expert and realize the dream of boring releases.
Whether you’re new to feature flags, a LaunchDarkly customer already, or one of our partners, the academy will help you get up to speed with everything you need to know to control code with LaunchDarkly.
What are the offerings?
There are three types of resources: Self-guided Missions, Live Missions, and Interstellar Certifications. These are designed to meet you where you are, however comfortable you are with feature flags and beyond, and however you prefer to learn.
Go at your own pace with Self-guided Missions
With self-guided training, you can explore topics covering LaunchDarkly’s products and services. LaunchDarkly for Beginners is the place to start if you have questions like “What is a feature flag?” and “Why are they important?” We’re also running some free office hours if you have questions for one of our internal experts.
LaunchDarkly for Developers, our core product training, consists of four courses, taking you all the way through from platform readiness and hands-on exercises to create your own flags, to advanced product features, experimentation, and beyond. We want to help you gain the knowledge and practice you need to get started using the LaunchDarkly Platform with as little friction as possible—as quickly as possible—to improve your everyday work, customer satisfaction, and overall business outcomes. Stage 1 and 2 of LaunchDarkly for Developers are available on demand already—if you start now you’ll be ready to learn more when Stages 3 and 4 launch in November.

Real-time training with Live Missions
Customers and partners can attend Live Missions for facilitated training via interactive sessions and virtual labs. These are conducted via Zoom or in person. The first, Flight School, is taking place at our annual user conference Trajectory. We’ll be exploring platform readiness, digging into how to set up an SDK and creating flags, targeting users, and configuring percentage rollouts. Sign up on the Trajectory site.
Get maximum credibility with Interstellar Certifications
If you really want to show off your knowledge and experience in all things LaunchDarkly, check out our Interstellar Certifications. Consisting of a learning path followed by an exam, Interstellar Certifications are a great way to solidify your knowledge and understanding.
Our Bronze and Silver Certified Developer programs will launch at Trajectory, followed by Gold and Platinum later in the year. We’re also working on developing more role-based certifications for Product Managers, Admins, and Partners, because we know that feature management and experimentation is useful to more than just your development team.
